Austin, Texas - February 10, 2010 - Global Deaf Women (GDW), a for-profit organization with the mission of providing resources to deaf women around the world, has joined Satdaya LLC, an association of professionals managing internet businesses together.
"Since we are building world wide network of deaf women, we will need to rely heavily on the Internet to bring resources, tools, and education to women where they are," says Sofia Seitchik, founder of GDW,"we needed a team with experience building and managing internet based businesses. I am thrilled to be part of the Satdaya team, and I look forward to growing GDW with their support."
Sofia Seitchik is joining Satdaya LLC as an associate, and bringing her website GlobalDeafWomen.com into the group of internet businesses managed by Satdaya LLC. She is the President of Global Deaf Women where she will work closely with the CEO of Satdaya to grow the organization. She is also helping out at Eventida as an Account Manager, due to her extensive background in event planning and sales.
By joining Satdaya LLC, GDW gains support with business administration, accounting, web development and marketing. "We, including my male partners, believe in the future of Global Deaf Women and that it is much needed. We are proud to welcome this organization to the Satdaya family," says Elise Whitworth, CEO. "While we also believe in giving back to the community, this is more than a charity effort. There are hundreds of deaf women around the world who are brilliant, creative, entrepreneurs, and possess lots of other skills -- many of whom are unemployed or do not have access to resources that will help them learn, grow, and accomplish their goals. One of Satdaya's primary goals is to bring employment opportunities to the disabled, and GDW will help us realize this goal."
The vision for GDW includes doing things such as: giving life coaching to women who need help setting and reaching their goals; helping a craftswoman in India or Russia sell her products through the internet, giving workshops to would-be entrepreneurs, hosting online webinars on how to do marketing, and so on. First, GDW will begin hosting events where women will learn about GDW. Second, an online network will be established, where deaf women, businesses and organizations that wish to show their support can register. Finally, GDW will launch a membership program full of benefits.
"My vision for GDW is large. It has been challenging because I have been dealing with the very same problem that GDW is trying to solve; access to resources and support for deaf women," says Sofia Seitchik. "I have gotten so many affirmations from other deaf women that "YES this is what we need!" that I cannot give up on this vision. It is a blessing for me to gain the confidence and support of Satdaya, and I welcome the opportunity to help their other internet businesses thrive alongside GDW. We're already making wonderful progress and having a great time working together!"
The challenge with an organization such as this is that "the "economic (money) power" of this market segment is not strong. How can we serve this group while building a sustainable organization that would create jobs, provide affordable education, and accomplish its vision?" questions Elise Whitworth. "The key is our entrepreneurial members -- by reselling their products and services around the world to the open market, we will bring income to those deaf women, making the community economically stronger. GDW will receive its share of profits, at a reasonable percentage, and continues to provide its services to other deaf women, completing the circle of support from deaf woman to deaf women."
Global Deaf Women will be releasing a schedule of events by the end of February. The schedule includes GDW networking events, multiple retreats, a US workshop tour, "Impact your Mind Tour 2010-2011," a special event during Deaf Nation World Expo this upcoming summer, and more. The organization is currently hiring Event Sales & Promotion Managers around the nation, check the Satdaya LLC website for more details.
