Event Sales & Promotions Manager

In Texas, California, Washington DC, Florida & Other States

We are looking for independent contractors in several states to assist with event coordination, sales, and promotions. The sales & promotion manager will work with creative staff, PR, sponsors and management to coordinate events in their local area. They will also be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with vendors, clients, and local event staff.

All qualified individuals from any state are encouraged to apply. The highest priority are those states: Texas, Washington DC, California, Florida.

Sales & Promotion Managers will be assigned with a region, and perform work for events and promotions in that assigned area. Duties include some or all of the following, depending on experience and skill:

Job Duties:
  • Assists with event coordination & logistics:
    • Create and implement traffic building promotions
    • Arranges for/secures prizes for promotions
    • Coordinates contests
    • Liaison for co-sponsors
    • Arrange for rehearsals when needed
    • Books parties & special events for the company and clients
    • Deal with specials needs for promos
    • Greets and escorts guests to their seats
    • Personally sees to guests special requests
  • Works with creative staff to develop graphics & advertising:
    • Event logo and slogan
    • Invitations
    • Flyers
    • Posters
    • Press Releases
    • External media ads, print, radio & TV
    • Direct mail programs - maintains active mailing list
    • E-Newsletters
  • Coordinates public relations and advertising:
    • Distribute press releases to local media
    • Supervise "street team" and other promotional activity
    • Maintains and solicits new business relationships
    • Makes cold calls weekly on new prospects
    • Meet quotas established by management
    • Follow up on all inquiries related to assigned events
  • Responsible for developing event packages:
    • Networking Events
    • Banquet/Special party promo packages
    • Group & corporate parties
    • Special catered events/meetings/parties
    • Happy Hour Events
    • Outdoor Events
    • Weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, parties, etc
    • Standardized budgets and task lists for above packages
  • Requirements
    Must be an experienced event coordination and/or promotions and advertising. Proven experience working independently with minimal supervision. Event planner certification and/or fluency in ASL a plus.

    This is an independent contract position with potential to become an associate - click here to learn more about what it means to become an associate.

    As independent contractors, you will need to set your hourly rate and submit that information along with a resume, portfolio of past events, and a minimum of 3 references. Email the information to jobs@satdaya.com. If hired, you will be compensated at your hourly rate for a set amount of hours per month, and you will be responsible for withholding and taxes.

    If you do not know what rate to charge, do your research - check job boards out there and find jobs that match your qualifications / experience level and average the compensation. You may calculate an hourly rate from an annual salary using this formula: (Annual Salary / 52) / 40 = hourly rate. Another great, easy resource is www.salary.com.

    NOTE that we typically start out with a small project per new contractor. If it goes well, we will do another project, and so on.
