Elise has over ten years experience in managing internet based businesses and has a background in event planning. She has been developing and managing websites for a variety of clients, from artists to international corporations, for over seven years.
In 2004, she established a web development and internet marketing firm, Satdaya Studios (formerly HTMLaddicts), which currently continues to service clients while Elise focuses on administration, business development, and establishing a new service, Eventida.
Elise first started her career in mass communications and design industry in 1997 when she served as News Editor, then as Business Manager, and finally as Managing Editor of the student paper at Gallaudet University. She first learned design software and became an avid user of the internet during her time at the newspaper and as a student, critical skills that she later used at her jobs as Production Manager and then Content Manager at dot com startups.
Her first website, EyeOnEvents.com, was launched in January of 2003, and was later forced to shut down the site due to being ill from her second pregnancy. A friend liked what she did and later asked her to build his freelance website for him. Surprised, she said OK and built his website - it is still fully functional nearly seven years later - GlennLockhart.com. He referred her to someone, then that person referred her, and so on. Before long, she found herself doing web development almost full time while taking care of her two young children at home.
Elise was born deaf, the youngest child of six, and raised in Orange County, California. After graduating from California School for the Deaf, Riverside, in 1992, she attended community college for one year before enrolling at Gallaudet Univsersity. She majored in English with a concentration in Journalism and minored in Business Management.
She later attended University of California, San Diego for an extended studies course in event planning and earned a certificate. Throughout the years she has participated in or hosted a number of very successful events, often talked about for years afterward. She also loved her occasional part time work for a variety of event planning companies doing event deco, set up, serving, and clean up between 2001 and 2007.
Loving her life in Austin with husband Lee and two boys, 6 and 8, Elise spends her spare time with her family, reading books, and traveling.
